Goal of Life (GOL) is a flagship programme of the Kutumb Foundation that focuses on building essential life skills among disadvantaged children across Delhi. Launched in 2002, the programme uses football as a powerful medium to bring underprivileged youth together—nurturing their talent while fostering unity, shared purpose, and positive relationships.
What began as an inter-NGO football tournament involving 16 organisations soon evolved into a football-cum-cultural festival, graced over the years by distinguished chief guests such as Bhaichung Bhutia, Kapil Dev, and Stephen Constantine. As the programme grew, peer leaders emerged from within the community and began facilitating sessions for other disadvantaged young people.
Today, Goal of Life operates in multiple locations across Delhi. All sessions are led by trained community youth and follow an intensive curriculum that emphasizes leadership, pluralism, gender sensitivity, and physical fitness. The programme’s toolkit represents the culmination of over a decade of best practices in sports-based youth development.
Goal of Life is a sustainable and scalable sports for development initiative, where football serves as an entry point to deeper educational and life-skills engagement. The programme’s overarching objective is to support the holistic physical, emotional, and social development of every child it reaches.
