JOSH-E-UMANG AND THE KALAKAAR PROJECT

From 2020-2023, Kutumb curated and delivered cultural programming in partnership with the Public Affairs Section, U.S. Department of State, for the American Center New Delhi. Over the years, we have successfully organised more than 40 cultural events, reaching thousands of viewers through live streams and social media platforms.

Our programming has featured a diverse range of acclaimed artists, including musicians such as Susmit Bose, BollyJazz, the Tetseo Sisters, Bawari Basanti, the Sanjay Mandol Group, and the Niazi Nizami Brothers. We have also hosted performances by dancers Justin McCarthy, Vikram Iyengar, and Priti Patel, as well as storytelling sessions led by Kapil Pandey and Deeptha Vivekanand. In addition, we have collaborated with dramatics societies from various Delhi University colleges to present dramatized readings.

The Kalakaar Project is a Kutumb initiative designed to support Kutumb's nonprofit work and contribute to our arts-based programming through ticketed events. Kapil Pandey has been performing storytelling sessions for children and adults for over half a decade at various festivals, including Bookaroo Children’s Lit Fest, Neev Literature Festival, Bhubaneshwar Festival of Storytelling, Disha Lit Fest, Kukdukoo Fest, and St. Stephen’s College’s Kaalchakra, and as a founding member of Delhi Storytellers’ Tribe. His original stories, Ganga’s Curse and Nahargadh, have been performed for audiences across India including Lilanoor Center, IHC Stein Auditorium, and the Goethe-Institut.
