Storytelling is one of the most powerful forms of communication, nurturing both creative and critical thinking. Rooted in emotion, stories make information meaningful and memorable, enabling listeners to engage deeply with ideas and experiences. Through listening to and telling stories, learners build empathy, form connections, and develop a deeper understanding of complex thoughts and perspectives.
At Kutumb, storytelling is both a pedagogical tool and a medium of expression. It supports facilitators in structuring and conveying information, while offering students a dynamic space to reflect, articulate, and share their own voices. Storytelling forms the foundation of much of Kutumb’s work, including The Kalakaar Project and Qissagadh Active Library programme, where stories are central to literacy development, dialogue, and community engagement.
Over the years, Kutumb’s storytelling initiatives have been supported by Google, Adobe, the Delhi Storytellers’ Tribe, Apartment 9, the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Department of State, Habitat Learning Centre, TAP Charity and numerous individual donors.
